Ben Alley was a registered patent agent before joining Pitts & Brittian, P.C., as an
associate in 2006. Mr. Alley practices in the area of intellectual property law, focusing on patent
application preparation, patent prosecution, and patent infringement opinion preparation. Mr.
Alley also assists clients in disputes and litigation relating to intellectual property law.
Mr. Alley earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee
Technological University in 2002. As an undergraduate, he was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu
honor society. Mr. Alley earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Stetson University College of
Law in 2006.
Mr. Alley was admitted to the Tennessee bar in 2006, was licensed to practice before the
United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2003, and is admitted to practice before the United
States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Mr. Alley is also currently a member
of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Knoxville Bar Association,
the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Tennessee Intellectual Property
Law Association.
