Paul E. Hodges is of Counsel to the Pitts and Brittian,
P.C., law firm and practices mainly in the area of intellectual
property. Admissions for Paul to practice have been granted by the
Tennessee State Courts, Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit,
U.S. District Court, the Eastern District of Tennessee, as well
as the Court of appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. Supreme Court,
and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Hodges attained his B.S. in Chemistry/Biology from the
University of North Alabama and then went on to do a
post-graduate study in chemistry, math and physics at the
University of Tennessee. He then continued his education at
the University of Tennessee getting his Doctor of
Jurisprudence degree. Paul then attended the School of
Government Contracting in Williamsburg, VA and has attended
numerous seminars and training sessions in the fields of
quality control, human resources, federal contract management,
and food and drug matters.
Mr. Paul Hodges then began his career as a Laboratory Chemist
with Union Carbide Corporation, Nuclear Division (UCCND) in
Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he eventually was promoted to
Patent Counsel of UCCND. Mr. Hodges went on to join the patent
law firm of Fitch, Even, Tabin and Luedeka of Chicago, IL as a
resident partner in the Knoxville, Tennessee office eventually
branching off with Mr. Luedeka to form their own private
practice, Ludeka and Hodges. The Ludeka and Hodges, P.C. firm
specialized in intellectual property law. He then went to
serve as Executive Vice President of DeRoyal Industries, Inc.,
where he served as Corporate Administrative and Financial
Executive, and as legal counsel in Food and Drug law,
Environmental law, Labor law and Intellectual Property law.
Mr. Hodges then returned to the private practice of law with
the firm of Luedeka, Hodges and Neely and managed the firm
upon retirement of Mr. Luedeka. He then decided to open his
own firm titled Paul E. Hodges, P.C. but the work load
increase prompted the merger of clients with Pitts and
Brittian, P.C., and his association with the firm as Of
Counsel which he has served since 1998.
Paul Hodges is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the
American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Tennessee
Intellectual Property Law Association (cofounder and former
member Board of Directors), Carolina Patent, Trademark and
Copyright Law Association, and the American Chemical Society.
